Welcome to my Hypeddit review. Hypeddit is a music marketing platform with a host of features including smart links, pre-save links, lifetime pre-saves, download gates, AI-powered music ads and more. I’ve been using Hypeddit since roughly 2019 for myself and hundreds of my students use it as well. So I have a ton of experience to share.
Hypeddit is one of the main smart link platforms I recommend to people who want to use Meta Ads to promote their music. It’s low price combined with large amount of useful features make it a great deal.

Smart Links
Hypeddit’ Smart Links feature is the bread and butter of the platform, and it’s what I use Hypeddit the most for. If you aren’t familiar with a Smart Link, here’s what they look like:

We use these in ad campaigns, specifically Meta ad campaigns to drive people from Facebook and Instagram to Spotify, Apple Music and other music DSPs. Hypeddit allows you to install a Meta Pixel on your smart links, and this allows you to run a conversion campaign in Ads Manager.
These links can also be setup as pre-release smart links, otherwise known as pre-save links. And these automatically convert to regular smart links on release day. This is very convenient because it allows you to make your landing page ahead of time before your song comes out, so you can publish your ads and schedule them to go live on release day automatically.
Here’s some of the great features Hypeddit has for their smart links:
- Meta, Google and TikTok Pixel support
- Conversion API support
- The ability to save preset pixels to your account
- Custom domain support
- Support for custom stores, if you want to add your own website to your landing page
- Tons of customization options for how links look
- Awesome analytics

Other Links
In addition to Smart Links and Pre-Save Links, Hypeddit also supports Download Gates, ‘Lifetime Fan’ links, Link Gates and Loud Gates. We’re going to cover Download Gates and Lifetime Fan links.
Download Gates
Here’s what a Hypeddit Download Gate looks like:
The purpose of Download Gates is to put a digital download file behind a ‘gate’. Meaning you require your fan to take an action to earn the free download. Here’s a sample of some of the gate steps you can setup inside of Hypeddit.
Download gates can be a great way to grow your email list without needing to setup a potentially complicated or expensive email opt-in form on a webpage or funnel. But you can also require people to take other actions as well like follow your on Spotify or like a song on Soundcloud.
Just to briefly mention Link Gates, they’re basically the same thing as Download Gates except you’re putting a hidden URL behind the gate instead of a digital download. Imagine having an unlisted behind the scenes YouTube video behind a gate.
Lifetime Fans
Lifetime Fans is Hypeddit’s answer to ‘lifetime pre-saves’. This feature allows fans to opt-in to pre-save all of your futue releases to their library. It’s basically a pre-save link on steroids. Plus it emails the fans upon each release, and you get their email address for your own email marketing campaigns.

AI-Powered Ads
Hypeddit has a pretty comprehensive automated ad creation tool. Look at all the different campaign objectives you can create:

Not only does Hypeddit support Meta ads, but also Google ads (YouTube ads) and TikTok ads.
Personally, I don’t use automated ad tools because I know how to run ads manually and get better results. However tools like Hypeddit’s AI-powered ads can be excellent ‘gateway drugs’ into learning how to run ads from scratch. As someone who has taught thousands of artists how to run ads manually I understand better than most how complicated it can be.
Hypeddit’s ad tool won’t outperform a human running ads from scratch, but it will do good enough a lot of the time. Sometimes you can get great results too, especially if you make your own ad creatives from scratch. I’ve met dozens of people that start running ads using Hypeddit’s ad tool and then eventually transition into settings up the old fashioned way to improve their results.
If you’re spending $50 it isn’t a big deal improving your campaign by 10%. But if you’re spending $500 an improvement of 10% saves you $50, much more worth the time learning how to do things properly.
I’m not going to go over the entire process of setting up Hypeddit ads, especially because it’s super easy and only takes 5-10 minutes, but I want to address the ‘AI-powered’ aspect.

It largely comes down to the targeting recommendations. Meta ads actually uses AI already, whether you make ads manually or using a 3rd party tool. And they’ve been doing this for years even before anyone heard of ChatGPT.
I believe Hypeddit is looking at the Spotify audio analysis and genre of the song you enter, and then coming up with a general idea of your genre. Then it may use something similar to ChatGPT to expand this list and ‘think’ of artists and genres that could work. Then this list is cross-referenced on Ads Manager to see which options are targetable.
I might be wrong, but that’s my guess!
Hypeddit even can create ad creative videos for you using your artwork. I highly recommend making your own high quality ad creatives for videos instead of using the ones Hypeddit creates for you though. Performance footage, music video clips, social media clips, stock footage etc – typically this will do much better than artwork generated video clips with filters on top of them.
Things I wish Hypeddit had
While i’m a pretty big fan of Hypeddit, no platform is truly perfect and I do have some wishes for them to add in the future. John Gold (the founder of Hypeddit) is constantly improving the platform and he’s great at taking recommendations so i’m hopeful that maybe some of these will become reality someday.
I wish Hypeddit had:
- Tour links to promote shows
- Faster page load speeds
- A multi-user account system so you don’t need to share username/password to share access
- A folder system to organize links, categorize them by artists etc.
Overall these features are NOT deal breakers by any means. The multi-user account system and folder system are really features for labels, ad agencies, managers etc., likely something artists wouldn’t use. However these are features that FeatureFM has, albeit at a much higher price point.
Hypeddit
The smart link platform i’ve recommended to most artists due to its incredibly value-to-feature ratio.
Pros
Great value
Easy to use
Tons of bonus features
AI-powered ads
Cons
No multi-user / folder system
No tour links
