Southworth Media home page

Southworth Media is a music marketing agency and media agency that helps indie artists, managers and labels with Spotify promotion through Facebook & Instagram ads or playlisting, YouTube music video promotion through Google ads, fan acquisition campaigns and more.

As one of the best Spotify promotion services, Southworth Media has driven hundreds of millions of Spotify streams with their direct ad services alone. Additionally they have thousands of Spotify playlists in their network. If you’re looking to grow your own Spotify playlists as an artist, label or aspiring curator, Southworth Media can grow your Spotify playlist following using high-intent Facebook & Instagram ads.

In addition to being experts in digital ads, Southworth Media also creates video content. All of their Facebook & Instagram ad campaigns include visual creation. But they also have self-serve lyric video and video clip creation services if you just need the videos.

2. Genera Studios

Genera Studios home page

Genera Studios is a music marketing education company and is also the sister-site to Southworth Media. While Southworth Media focuses on services running campaigns for artists, Genera Studios focuses on education and consulting for artists. This is the best option if you’re looking for someone to teach you how to promote your music yourself, instead of outsourcing it to someone else.

Genera Studios actually came before Southworth Media, and both are owned by Andrew Southworth. Interestingly enough, many of the other companies that run Meta / Facebook ad campaigns for music learned how to run ads from Genera Studios / Andrew Southworth.

5. Indie Music Academy

Indie Music Academy provides online training for music marketing, but they also provide services for Spotify playlist promotion and TikTok influencer promotion. They also utilize SEO based playlists, and their team strives for a really good song-playlist match. This means a higher rejection rate, but also a potentially higher quality of playlist than most.

6. SubmitHub

SubmitHub website, music marketing companies
SubmitHub home page

SubmitHub is primarily a site that connects music artists to music curators. For example, you can pitch your music to be placed on Spotify playlists, YouTube channels. blogs, radio stations and more. Instead of paying a lot of money for guaranteed coverage, you page a small amount ($2 to $5 per submission) for consideration. If the curator doesn’t approve you, they have to give you feedback explaining why.

As a result, a lot of thin-skinned artists say very bad things about them online. Overall SubmitHub is a solid platform, but your results may vary depending on your genre of music. It’s a great place to take $20 to $50 and get some promotion, which you can’t get almost anywhere else.

SubmitHub also has a few other awesome features, like their free SubmitHub Links, which are a great tool for people running ad campaigns for their songs (and a great alternative if you’ve previously been using ToneDen). They also have a marketplace to hire music services, and an influencer portal to do some influencer marketing.

7. Groover

Groover is very similar to SubmitHub in how they operate. You’re submitting your music for consideration to playlisters, channels, radio stations etc. Groover has taken a unique approach in that they have several very developed markets like France and Brazil in addition to their overall global coverage. Additionally different genres of music can thrive here compared to SubmitHub.

While both SubmitHub and Groover carefully audit their list of curators, I think Groover does a slightly better job educating their curators on how to provide feedback. They’ve secured a lot of great collaborations with other music companies as well.

8. Indeprenuer

Indepreneur is a music marketing education company that provides courses and a community to train artists how to market themselves. They have a unique focus on fanbase development for artists that care more about selling merch and touring than streaming and social media. Many artists at some point learn about their ‘Fan Finder Method’ which is a wonderful tactic with many applications.

When you’re ready, they also offer 1-on-1 coaching called IndieFounder Solo and their IndieX Agency Services.

What is the Best Music Marketing Company in 2025?

Ultimately the best music marketing company will vary depending on what your unique goals are. Every company on this page is legitimate and tried and tested by either myself or our community. However overall I can most recommend Southworth Media since this is my company and I personally oversee the daily operations.

I’ve been marketing my own music and testing out services for years. I’ve put this experience into Southworth Media, and we really are a company made by music artists for music artists. This is why i’m confident you’ll find Southworth Media to be the best out there if we align with your goals.

But I highly recommend checking out each of the options on this list, and possibly even reaching out to several of them that sound the best for you. It’s typically a good idea to try and start small before going in big as well, this way you can test out some services before committing big bucks.

Remember that you want most of your fanbase to come from high-intent listening sources, and not all from lower intent sources like Spotify playlists. Playlisting has it’s place, but it’s not for newer artists building their fanbases from scratch.
