If you use DistroKid you may have noticed you can now distribute your music to Roblox!

If you aren’t familiar, Roblox is an insanely popular online gaming platform with over 200 million monthly active users. Roblox users are able to create their own games in the platform, and DIstroKid can get your music into the Roblox Creator Store so that it’s possible for users to incorporate your music in their experiences.
Here are the requirements for Roblox music distribution:
- Roblox does not accept explicit content, as 58% of users are age 16 or younger.
- You must own 100% of your publishing rights and not be registered with a Performance Rights Organization like BMI or ASCAP.
Additionally music on Roblox is not currently monetized, and distribution to the Creator Store does not guarantee that your release will be live on the platform as it is a curated platform.
For those of you with a younger audience, and meet the strict requirements of the platform, this could be an amazing opportunity. Gaming is a huge industry and music has always played a large part in it. In the past only major label artists would typically have the possibility of being included in games, so this really is a historic milestone for indie artists.
Here’s DistroKid’s help article on the topic.
